Meet Ellie
The Full Story
Ellie Lyons (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and trained play therapist in Massachusetts with over 8 years of experience working with children and families in clinical and educational settings. Formerly a School Adjustment Counselor for a specialized therapeutic program, Ellie has extensive experience with pediatric behavioral health treatment, clinical crisis intervention, and the intersection of mental health and special education. Ellie has experience treating neurodiverse children with a variety of emotional and behavioral profiles and needs including those with trauma histories, Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and behavioral dysregulation. She specializes in applying a neurophysiological approach to psychotherapy and offering neurodiversity-affirming care that increases children's access to the world, while honoring their unique paths.
In addition to her clinical work at Madeline Mental Health, Ellie is also an adjunct professor and curriculum developer for Baypath University in their Psychology and Counseling graduate programs. She also offers professional development services for school districts and healthcare organizations on somatic regulation, de-escalation, behavior management, and the neurophysiology of trauma.
